Vera Jennie Keith and Mehmet Fatih were married June 30 in Adile Sultan Saray.

Vera Jennie Keith was the star for henna night, in an outfit made for her by members the family of her husband-to-be -- Mehmet Fatih. (This and the next picture were taken by Val. Henna night is for the women who are attending the wedding, though the groom did make an appearance to join in the dancing.)

There was indeed lots of dancing.

Adile Sultan Saray, high above the Bosphorus on the Asian side, was the venue for the wedding ceremonies on the night of June 30th.

Susan Keith and Stanley Keith, Jennie's mother and father, inspected the ballroom before things got underway in earnest.

Children played while the adults talked cheerfully, enjoyed refreshments, and watched the busy ship traffic below.

The afternoon sun contributed -- unnecessarily -- to the glow on Jennie's face.

The ceremony was conducted with grace and good humor by an official in the official wedding officiant's coat.

Then there was dinner, music, dancing and cheerful carrying on until well after midnight. The occasion included delicious food, an energetic band, and a lively crowd of partygoers of varying levels of skill on the dancefloor. (I won't say where I fit in the range except to note I was encouraged by everyone's courtesy.)
